Finale at HB Williams – Gisborne

Here are some pics from the finale party. Our challenge was to see how tall you could make a flag pole with the materials provided. We also had people designing the NZ flag. The kids had a great time and we also had Ronald MacDonald outside to entertain us while having out Kai.

Gisborne Day 3 Yr 5/6

Having fun making domino chains, problem solving with sticks, learning about the magic 37 trick, playing with palindrome numbers and more. They had a blast and learnt a lot. Pretty quiet bunch… they must have been thinking.

Day 2 at Gisborne

Day two; Year 3 and 4. Today we started off reading a book about big numbers. The children then made a number collage where the focus was on finding the biggest number and also looked at place value for these numbers.  The biggest number we found was 30 billion!  They also made prisms out of the polygons and then we looked at triangular prisms. The take home games were a hit at the end of the day too.  There were a lot of happy faces at the end of the day which is what we like to see! Well done to the year 3 and 4’s for being fantastic mathematicians.
